Everyone says they are sorry, and I am too, but at the same time, I am happy; happy that you had such a long and wonderful life with Joe; a man who you shared your thoughts and dreams with; a man who you had two wonderful boys with...treasure these gifts that you shared with him and always remember the good times!!!...Joe was always so good to me and my kid; like he was with everyone, but he always made me feel like I mattered...you don't have to go at this alone, I am just a phone call away...love you...

I am so sorry for your loss.  Joe was always friendly to everyone all his life.  He had a great smile which he displayed often.

God saw he was getting tired and a cure was not to be.  So he put his arms around him and whispered, "come with me." 
With tearful eyes you watched him suffer, and saw him fade away.  Although you loved him dearly, you could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, his hands were put to rest.  God broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.  I knew Joe in high school.  He was a kind and caring person then.  Sounds like that didn't change over the years.  So sorry to hear his life was cut short.

I have had the priviledge of knowing Joe for over thirty years. 
Whenever we talked there was never a time that he wasn't his up-beat self, sick or not. I'll miss you my friend and you will always be in my prayers.

We send our love and hugs to the family.  Joe was a blessing. We are not going to be able to attend the funeral, but will be there in spirit. Our daughter is still home with us after the loss of our son, and will be returning to the mission field April 3. Joe was a mans man. You will be missed by all you knew.

I am honored to have known Joe.  He was an amazing individual with an honorable desire to help others with pulmonary disease.  He will be missed!!

 I never got to meet Joe personally but he was such an inspiration to me & I know a great many others. He will be missed by all of us. My sympathies go out to the family & I send them our prayers & may God be with you all. Joe is now resting easy.

Only met Joe once but could see what a leader he was and dedicated to those of us with lung disorders.  He will be missed.

Joe's fine example enriched the lives of patients with many respiratory diseases.
I am grateful to have benefited from his drive not to let his disease limit him.
