

Judith Ann Levak, beloved mother, family matriarch, loyal friend, and one of the kindest souls to ever walk through the lives of others, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, after a long and courageous illness. She was 79 years old.
Judith was born on September 19, 1946, in Cleveland, where she developed the warmth, resilience, and deep appreciation for family and friendship that would define her life. She lived a life marked by compassion, generosity, grace, and unwavering devotion to those in her orbit. Her kindness was not occasional - it was simply who she was.
Judith had a remarkable gift for friendship and made deep, lasting connections throughout her life. She touched countless people through her thoughtfulness, warmth, humor, and selfless spirit.
Above all, Judith was devoted to her family. Her love was constant, unconditional, and at the center of everything she did.
Judith was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Alan Levak (December 5, 1943 – November 26, 2008), with whom she shared a life grounded in love, family, loyalty, and enduring partnership.
Judith was also preceded in death by her mother, Almira Marie DiGiacomantonio; her father, Virgil Nihiser; and her stepfather, Emilio DiGiacomantonio, all of whom played important roles in shaping the values of family, resilience, and compassion that defined her life.
Judith is survived by her sons, Daniel John Levak and John Joseph “Jay” Levak, who were the center of her world and the enduring source of her pride and love.
Her greatest joys included being “Gramma Judy” to Julia Tate Levak, Sarah Ann Levak, Colin John Levak, and Aidan John Levak. She adored each of them beyond measure and treasured every moment, conversation, holiday, and memory shared with them.
She is also survived by her beloved brothers, Virgil “Bud” Nihiser and Daniel Nihiser, along with their wives, Alice and Nancy, with whom she shared a lifetime of family memories, enduring love, and cherished bonds.
Judith also shared a lifelong connection with her cousin Patti Weigand, whose friendship, love, and steadfast presence meant more to her than words can fully express.
Judith also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
Those who knew Judith will forever carry with them the words she so often shared with the people she loved most: “I love you to the moon and back.”
Funeral service 10:30 am Saturday May 9 at THE DiCICCO AND SONS FUNERAL HOME 5975 MAYFIELD RD. MAYFIELD HTS., OH. where the family will receive friends FRIDAY MAY 8 FROM 4 TO 7 PM. Entombment will be at Knollwood Cemetery.
