Nancy "Nunziata" Scaffidi

NANCY "Nunziata" SCAFFIDI age 89, owner of Mama Santa's Restaurante in Little Italy, passed away Saturday November 13, 2021. She was born June 2, 1932 in Gioiosa Marea, Sicily. Beloved wife of the late Guido; dearest mother of Nino Starvaggi (Pina), Angie Tabor (Eddie, deceased), Vilma Paternite (Sam) and Danny (Bajka); devoted grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 8; dear sister of Maria Ignazzitto (Orazio, deceased) and Tindaro Ignazzitto (Nancy) (both deceased); She immigrated to the United States in 1952 to Akron, Ohio. She began her life in America working in a factory and soon became a licensed beautician. She moved to Cleveland’s Little Italy and opened Mama Santa’s Restaurant with her husband Guido on July 25, 1961. Nancy had a passion for her family, friends and baking her famous plain cookies. She often played bocci ball in a league. She enjoyed traveling and returned to Italy for many visits along with Canada and Mexico.
