🥳.our fearless leader in plaid.   Best and wisest, friend/boss I ever had.   I'm  trying to be succinct..  I talked myself into a job that lasted 13 years.  "Worked" with the best   Gonna touch upon a few special  memories.  Marshall  Tucker Band Front Row. Paul, Sue  &  young Tony.  My hot tub Bday parties.   Asked Daveetz if I could organize  E.T. Geauga Lake bus trip.   Yes. Our driver drank all our booze and ran into the ticket booths ..windows broke. (You had to be there)CRAZY, I got our $ back.😀.then suggested a Trip to Cedar Point.  Yes. And we took another group of 40 on another fabulous outing.  The Scene magazine  Bar Olympics with Milo as Referee.   . Joe Cvelbar helped GUSTO WiN!  Mud Wrestling with the Chicago Knockers.  Filming the Light of Day, and being at the premiere ,limo, red carpet,veal chops. with Paul,Sue and Bob. He was just so cool and he never said no to my zany ideas. Sue, my deepest sympathies, condolences and prayers for you and your family.  

I first met “Mount Divito” shortly after he and Bob purchased the Euclid Tavern.  I was working for Orlando Bakery at the time, and the bar was on my route.  One day I was delivering the Food Co-Op across the street and noticed the Wonder Bread driver delivering hamburger buns to the tavern.  I waited until the Wonder driver left and then stopped in to see who the new owners were and what kind of menu they had.  It was then that I first met Paul and Bob and their cook Jerry Suhar.  I asked if they would like to trade their tray of Wonder buns for a tray of Orlando hamburger buns, they did.  Jerry then asked if we carried French bread, he used for his famous “Pittsburgers”, he said he had been stopping at Fazio’s to buy it on his way to work, I told him I can deliver that too and the rest was history!

Over the next few years there was many a morning I’d have coffee and a “morning exchange” with PauI and we became friends.  To illustrate, I’ll never forget the night the phone rang at my home, and it was Paul, telling me that a “Hollywood” movie was going to be filmed in part at the tavern, and he asked if I’d like to be in the movie, cast as a bar “regular”.  He told me some guy on the production crew told him and Bob to actually invite their friends to participate in the film entitled the Light of Day, I agreed and it was truly a “once in a lifetime” experience.  I thought to myself how nice it was that he thought of me as a friend, but then again, that was just the way he was.  He will truly be missed!

“May his soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the Mercy of God, Rest in Peace”.  Amen

My deepest sympathy to Paul’s family. I will always remember Paul as an overgrown teddy bear. Always smiling and listening with concern and joking along the way until he got mad -then look out. Keeping all in my prayers for the Peace that only Christ can bring to our hearts.

In was an incredible honor and pleasure to coach Paul. A football team wins because of the men who make up the team and Paul was a winner in every way.  Sadly he has passed, but in my mind’s eye he will always be that young man in college.  He may not have been the biggest or the fastest or the strongest, but he had more toughness and determination than many.  That is what made him great.  He had heart.  He will never be forgotten.

I had the honor of playing football with Paul for 4 years at the University of Maryland. and had a special bond as another player from NE Ohio. On the field Paul was known for his rugged, hard nosed, and gritty  style of play. Off the field he was kind, caring, jovial, and a person the younger players could lean on during the most difficult of times. An inspiration and  a true friend to us all.The loss of such a fine person is a great blow as he , his smile, and his genine nature served as an example to us all. I know he was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. The world needs more like Paul Divito.

Paul was a friend of mine back at the University of Maryland, we had many great fun times together, Paul was a person I will never forget-upbeat and positive with a great sense of humor. He was a true friend. My whole family, who knew Paul, would like to me to extend condolences to your family-he was admired by all. The teddy bear friend! That’s how I remember Paul. Whenever he showed up at my mom and dad’s house to hang with Dennis he was so kind to “ the little sister” . Such a  sweet bear! Praying for your peace and lovely memories.

Sue, sorry to hear of Paul's passing. May he rest in peace and may the pain of your families loss be replaced  by the unending memories of joy and laughter.

Oh Sue, my heart aches for you and your tender spirit. Throughout all the lively and sometimes chaotic days of our youth, you and Paul stood as pillars of strength. Together, you found love amid the whirlwind and built a family, welcoming your beautiful babies into the world.
You both set a shining example for those around you—establishing a benchmark of what it means to embody the highest and best qualities. Your partnership served as an inspiration to many, demonstrating resilience, love, and unity.
I always pictured Paul as a character straight out of Sesame Street—his presence brought warmth and joy to everyone. That unforgettable face of his always made me smile; it was truly outstanding and unique.
Though this is an incredibly difficult and painful way to say goodbye, I hold onto the hope that somewhere, in some way, these remarkable individuals are still making a difference—helping to lift and support something good on this planet.
