Mr. Hein was my Art Teacher at Roxboro Jr. High , Cleveland Heights in the later 1970's, I enjoyed his stories and appreciation for Art.

I am sorry to hear about the death of your father. Reading the remarks from his students over the years makes it clear he was a special person.  It brings to mind the memories you have shared about growing up near the golf course and your more recent gambling trips with your dad.  I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Hein was my art teacher at Oxford Elementary. My most precious mementos and fondest memories came from his class. Myself and two other students won a competition to design a neckerchief. He took us canoeing as the prize! He made a difference with the students he taught. He truly knew how to inspire and make us laugh.

I loved reading the tributes from those who knew Mr. Hein as a teacher!  My condolences to the Hein family and especially to my best friend, Arlene.

I will always remember the family reunions Uncle Bob & Aunt Evelyn would have at their home in Moreland Hills.  It was a wonderful place for all of the young cousins to get together each year.  We especially enjoyed their pond and beach area and running around.  Uncle Bob was always a warm and fun person to be around and he always made us kids feel welcome and special.  I would like to especially extend my condolences to my cousins Cheryl, Janice, Arlene, Bobby, Jennifer, Natalie, Grant, and Lisa.  Please know you are all in my thoughts at this difficult time.  Uncle Bob will be missed.

Bob as well as your entire family have always been special to my mom Janet Lucas and to all of us.  We always enjoyed visiting with all of you.  My mom enjoyed him and your mom all her life. Our sympathy to you and yours.

Mr. Hein was my seventh grade art teacher at Monticello Junior High School.  I remember him for sharing many things about being creative.  One of the most  profound things I remember is our unit on Linear Perspective, in which Mr. Hein painstakingly explained the most basic type called one point perspective.  This is where all parallel lines leading away from the viewer converge to one vanishing point.  After this lesson our task was to practice this, and ultimately we were asked to draw a building or house.  Well, I drew a house.  I drew everything that I could imagine that I would like for it to look.  Years later after getting married and digging through my old papers from middle and high school.  I came across the drawing of the house that I drew in Mr. Hein's art class and I had to stop when I looked at the picture that I had drawn,and I am now LIVING in the house that I had drawn.  It was a strange occurence for me. And I realized that not only what you write but what you draw can become very real in your life.  From that time, I have continued to study Art and am now making plans to teach Art.  I feel that my experience in Mr. Hein's Art Class was very spiritual for this was a life lesson.  The Bible speaks of this in Habakkuk 2 (2-3).  I did not have contact with Mr. Hein after I left Monticello, but I do remember him being a gentle spirit, who was a saint for teaching Junior High School Art.

Mr. Hein was my art teacher at Oxford elementary school in the early 70s. He was honestly one of the most kind and patient people I have ever met. He was always  supportive and encouraging. Even as young children we all knew how special he was. I clearly remember rooms full students screaming for his attention and approval and he always gave it with a smile and never once lost his temper. I will never forget him.

We remember Uncle Bob as a friendly person with great musical and artistic talents.  I first met Uncle Bob in the late 40's when he visited my Aunt Evelyn at our house. He was wearing his army uniform. Us kids were so proud! Our condolences to all at this difficult time.
