I met Sharo while she was rotating at MSU this Spring and from the moment we met, her kindness and infectious joy was apparent and palpable. Every day she entered clinic with a positive attitude and bright smile, and all of us in the clinic loved working with her for the few weeks she spent with us. She was kind, humble, intelligent, and she lived out her faith beautifully. She is someone I will always remember fondly and am blessed to have encountered. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, and send my sincere condolences and prayers to her family and loved ones.

My deepest condolences to Sharo’s family and loved ones. I met Sharo at Vanderbilt and I worked in Dr. Price’s research lab with her. Sharo was such a bright light in this world. She brought love, joy, and kindness to every space she entered. I was also in the International Education Policy program at Vanderbilt, a year behind Sharo, and she was so supportive and helpful as I navigated my first year in Nashville. She invited me to go to church with her (The Belonging Co.) and we attended services and Bible studies together.

I worked with Sharo for 3 years on a research project during medical school. She was a year ahead of me and I remember meeting her during my first week. You always remember how people make you feel and Sharo was one of those people that make you feel cared for and welcomed. She was a genuinely good person. I’m honoured to have had the experience of working closely with her the past few years. She was someone I could always ask for advice- professional or personal and was someone I really looked up to. She carried herself with such a kind, sweet spirit and I am still shocked to think that she is gone. I knew she was going to be an amazing pediatrician and am heartbroken to know that her life was cut short. I send my deepest condolences to her family during this difficult time.

A Tribute to Our Angel, Glany Ma

Our dear Glany Ma — truly a little angel sent by God — was born on October 29, 1995. From the moment she came into our lives, she brought boundless joy and warmth to our entire family. She was so cute, so precious, and so full of love. Her smile never faded, no matter the situation, and she showed deep respect and affection to everyone — whether elders or little children. She was truly the apple of her parents’ eyes, and dearly loved by all who knew her.

Glany was a spiritual soul, always close to the Lord, rooted in prayer and sincerity. She wasn’t just a bright and compassionate daughter — she was also a guiding light to my own children, Jennifer and Rachel. As a pediatrician, her heart was deeply tender. We heard from her parents how she would carry each child’s suffering in her heart, especially those little ones battling cancer. She would cry and pray for them — treating not just their illness but embracing their pain as her own.

What we remember most is her cheerful spirit. That big, beautiful smile was always on her face. She was deeply grateful for every little blessing in her life. Even during her last visit to Saudi Arabia, she showed such love and care — giving wise advice to Jenni and Rachel about responsibility, studies, career, and most of all, spiritual life. She also expressed her love in the sweetest ways — like making her delicious apple pie for Jenni, Rachu, Kichuma, and Nathan. Her love was pure, and she won even the littlest hearts with her gentle spirit.

On July 19, 2025, the Almighty, in His divine plan, took her back. Because she was so dear to Him too. He wanted her by His side — safe, protected, and cherished — to fulfill a greater purpose in His kingdom.

Though her life was short, it was beautifully lived. We thank God for the privilege of knowing such a precious soul. Through her, our children learned important values — about love, kindness, responsibility, and faith. She gave us memories we will trea

some knew Sharo as an acquaintance, some knew Sharo as a colleague and some knew Sharo as a doctor but I’ve know Glany only as a childhood friend, in fact it was only two months ago that I found out that her first name is Sharo.
Glany for me, was and still is this mystical magical human. one that I’ve always heard accomplish amazing feats. feats like how she moved to Pune from Saudi right after her tenth grade for better higher secondary education. feats like how she moved to the United States to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor. feats like how she
completed her pre med in UMish. feats like how she not only got into the DO program at Michigan State but also aced it and feats like how she matched with Cleveland clinic’s residency program in paediatrics. Glany has always strived towards the pursuit
and accomplishment of accolades of the highest order.
i still remember to this day of a prayer that Glany prayed which blew my 8 year old mind. i was amazed of her hold on the English language and the way she spoke to God. her faith is something she’s held on to with utmost respect and love and I believe that it is the grace of God and her faith that’s made her summit the tallest of mountains.
unfortunately in this lifetime, I didn’t have the privilege to have a real
conversation with her but I do know that I’ll get to on the other side. till then I’ll cherish the beautiful memories of fragrance that Glany "the rose of Sharo" has left behind.

in our brief time as co-residents, sharo was the warmest, most genuine light for our intern class. my deepest condolences to her loved ones. i hope to move forward in my life and career with a fraction of the seemingly boundless love sharo emanated in every interaction with every soul she encountered. i know i was deeply inspired by sharo and want to lead with love like she did.

Sharo was such a sweet friend. That’s actually how she would greet me, “Sweet friend, how are you?” Even in the brief moments when I would run into her in the hallways of our medical school or at the hospital, her bright energy and warmth would bring a smile on my face.  Sharo always made me feel like I was cared for and was someone who put others first. She was a kind and gentle soul. I will miss chatting with her over coffee and meals. I will miss her beautiful smile and laughter. I’m so grateful and blessed to have gotten to know Sharo and to experience the love she generously shared. I am encouraged by the fact that she didn't know her journey was about to close, but when she realized she had a last minute chance to come to convention, she took it and came and sought God. In 1 Peter 3:3-4, it is written:
"...Beauty should not come from outward adornment....rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."

Glany truly embodied this Scripture. Her gentle and quiet spirit reflected a deep inner beauty that touched the lives of all who knew her. Kindness flowed naturally from her in every interaction, and her presence brought warmth and sincerity wherever she went.

I first met Glany in 2013 when her parents brought her to the Detroit Faith Home. Over the years, through fellowship, visitations, and shared meals, I grew to deeply appreciate the simplicity of her faith and the profound love she had for God. Her genuine spirituality was both inspiring and uplifting.

Though she was a highly intelligent individual, Glany carried herself with humility. During her times at the Faith Home, she was always willing to lend a hand, often asking how she could be of help. Her life reflected a heart that delighted in serving and honoring the Lord.

I am sorrowful over her departure; however, her life has left a legacy of loving the Lord and acknowledging Him in every step of the way.

As Scripture tells us about Enoch, how he walked faithfully with God, and then was no more because God took him (Gen 5:24), similarly, God saw Glany as someone who walked closely with Him and loved Him deeply. It is this sacred relationship that brought her into God’s loving embrace.

May her memory continue to inspire us and may the peace of God comfort all who mourn her loss, especially her immediate family.

I have no words after knowing this. All our memories together from 4th standard at IISD just came gushing in. I really can't believe it. But its so true what everyone just said she was a gentle soul. And one thing that gives me comfort is that she is in God's presence now. I pray that God will comfort all her family and friends at this time. I will really miss you Sharo ❤️

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of  Glany , on 19th July 2025. We still remember those days we were together in Saudi Arabia . Glany was more than just an elder sister to my children Dency and Dennis  — she was a roll model to everyone . Her warm smile, gentle spirit, and deep humility left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She carried the light of Christ in her heart, and her presence brought peace and joy wherever she went.

Sharo, I feel so lucky and blessed to have known you and called you a friend. You were always such a ray of sunshine and brought smiles to everyone's faces when you were around. My time during MSU COM would not have been the same without being a fellow base-hospital student with Sharo during our last two years. We would like to thank God for the life of Beloved Glany. Since the time she took Jesus as her Personal Saviour till the end, the Lord was her all in all.

When Glany came to visit during the last vacation,  we truly saw God’s grace at work in her. She shared a sincere and Spirit-led desire to be involved in the scripture school, and it was such a blessing to witness her serve with wisdom, love, compassion, and kindness. Her heart for the children and for the Word of God was evident in everything she did. She not only taught with grace but also supported the ministry by helping to provide and carefully edit the anniversary scripts. We deeply thankful to the Lord for the way He used her during that time, and for her willingness to serve so wholeheartedly.

The Lord did not allow her to suffer much, & she finished her race victoriously while she was resting peacefully.

By Grace, the Lord began a work in her, His 'grace' led her through, and by grace, he completed His work in Her. Our God is faithful, though her life was a short one, the Lord did what he intended to do in her.

All glory, honour and praise be to the Lord and Lord alone, Amen!

Now unto Him, that is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. (Jude 1:24)

It’s still so hard to grasp that Glany Chechi is no longer with us. Her passing has left a deep emptiness in the hearts of all who knew her. "Though our time together was brief, the memories of you, dear Glanyma, remain vivid and strong.

Heavenly Father,
Our hearts are broken and overwhelmed with grief. In the face of this deep sorrow, we turn to Lord, the source of all comfort and peace.

Lord, we lift the Costas' family and family members to You. Wrap them in Your arms of love and carry them through this storm of pain.
Give them strength when they are weak.
Peace that passes understanding when their minds are troubled, And wisdom to walk each day with grace and compassion toward one another.

We thank you for our beloved daughter's gift, the joy she brought, the love she gave, the humbleness, politeness, kindness, softness, love, and the light she shared.

We were heartbroken to hear about the sad news. Words cannot fully express the sorrow we feel during this incredibly difficult time.

We have known her since her childhood days in Saudi Arabia, always humble and kind to everyone. She was also a good spiritual role model for all the children in our Sunday School. We are comforted in knowing that she is in the loving embrace of her Lord and Saviour.

Glanny ma… it’s still impossible to believe that you're no longer with us. Our hearts are shattered, and words feel too small for the love we carry and the pain we feel.
You came into our lives when you were just 9 months old in Saudi Arabia— so tiny, so full of light — and from that moment on, you became a part of our hearts in a way that can never be undone. We watched you grow, laughed with you, played through endless childhood days together. you weren't just a friend, or family — you were one of us, every step of the way.
The photos being shared now bring it all back like it was just yesterday — the laughter, the silly games, your sweet smile. You were the kindest little soul — so gentle, so pure, so full of quiet joy. There was something about you that made everything feel better, lighter, warmer.
We  know now that you’re in the most beautiful place, with God. I truly believe heaven gained an angel in you. we’re going to miss you more than words can say. Your absence leaves a space no one else can fill.
We love you more than words can ever express. Thank you for the love and memories you've given us. You’ll always be a part of who we are. Always in our hearts. Always remembered. Always loved.

When. I think of the sudden demise of beloved Glanyma i am reminded of the great poetic lines-your children are not your children. ,they may come through you but they don't come of you.  Glany bloomed in the perfect way possible She led her life spreading love and the aroma of divinity all through her life. When summoned she surrendered herself to the Almighty immaculate and spotless. Always Glany will be remembered for what and whom she was.You bloomed and withered like a fragrant flower. We were touched by Glany’s love and humility during our fellowship in Detroit. Her gentle voice and radiant smile linger in our hearts and minds. 
A peaceful end to a short but fragrant life. We are praying for her family and friends. May our dear Lord comfort them. We have a blessed hope in Jesus Christ that we will meet again in His heavenly kingdom.

Sharo was such a sweet and genuine person.  She was a wonderful classmate at MSUCOM and I always enjoyed seeing her. She always had such a big smile and warm presence that lit up every room she walked into. She was so genuine, sweet, and had such a big heart. She will be greatly missed. Sending my condolences to all her family and friends!

When we heard the sudden departure of your beloved daughter Glany, we were really upset and not able to accept it. We understand your status now. May the Lord help you to overcome this difficult situation.  As we are believers, and I know her school days in Saudi Arabia, one thing I am sure she became a precious stone in Zion. A Message from Sharo Glany Costa

An angel descended into this world on 29th October 1995—a soul radiant with love, compassion, and the presence of God. Sharo Glany Costa was not just a beloved daughter and devoted physician, but a living witness of heaven among us.

She walked gently through this world, following in the footsteps of her Creator, Jesus. Her smile could lift the heaviest hearts, and her very presence brought comfort, peace, and a sense of divine touch to all who knew her.

Sharo’s love for children reflected the heart of Christ. Choosing to serve as a pediatrician, she dedicated her life to caring for young ones with tenderness, humility, and extraordinary devotion. In her vocation, she was not just a doctor—she was an angel in a white coat, healing not only bodies but souls.

On 19tg July 2025, this angel returned to the heavens, leaving behind a legacy of selfless love, grace, and the light of a life beautifully lived. Though she has ascended, her spirit continues to dwell among us. In every act of kindness, in every moment of joy, and in every memory of her gentle soul, we feel her presence still.

Sharo’s message to us remains:

There was nothing better than walking to the garden for a study break with her. She would share stories of her childhood and her family. There was always a point she hated though. At a certain point there would be a gaggle of geese on the path. She would hide behind me because they were to aggressive for her. I would always joke that a butterfly would be aggressive compared to her. She was without a doubt the most gentle soul I have ever met. No matter how scary the geese were she would always say the trip was worth it. Because she enjoyed the garden and our time together. I wish we could have one more walk to say goodbye properly. You were the heart and soul of our pod. I will always miss you.

I'd like to offer my condolences. It can't be easy what you're going through, but the Bible has many verses that can comfort you. And this doesn't surprise us: “For all the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction,f so that through our enduranceg and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope”. (Romans 15:4).
Look at the encouraging words the Bible gives us: “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted;
He saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Many are the hardships of the righteous one,y
But Jehovah rescues him from them all”. (Psalms 34:18,19).
God is with us especially when we are sad and encourages us through his Word.
