

Bruce B. Litwer, of Coral Gables, Florida, passed away May 19, 2026. He was born in Brighton Beach, New York on April 23, 1940. He attended Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, then graduated from Brandeis University in 1961 with his B.A. and graduated from Columbia Law School with his J.D. in 1964. Following law school, Bruce went to Las Vegas to work for Lum’s, the corporate parent of Caesar’s Palace. A few years later he came to Florida and became general counsel for Bonaventure and after 20+ years became general counsel for Forest Trace in Lauderhill, FL. He was married to the love of his life, the late Vicki Litwer (nee Abel) and they were together since 1986. He was a fellow, former trustee and former national alumni association president of Brandeis University. Bruce and Vicki were active and passionate members of The Center for Jewish Life at Beth David where Bruce had been congregation president. They enjoyed their time on many around the world cruises in between spending time with their wonderful grandchildren. Bruce was known for his generosity and wisdom which he shared throughout the community.
He is survived by his daughter Wendy T. Abel, grandchildren Andrew and Ayaela Harrison. He is also survived by a sister Barbara Schiff (Gerry), nieces Shanti Schiff Ortega (Al) (Joshua), Nicole Schiff Brozost (Daniel) (Rebecca, Dylan and Evan) and Arielle Schiff (Daniel Kacinski); along with a brother, Lawrence Litwer, sister-in-law, Monique Mos, nephews Lach Litwer (Alexia Kelly) (Rowan and Ila), Noah Litwer, and niece Naomi Broome.
Funeral will be held at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapels at Mount Nebo Kendall, on Sunday May 24, 2026 at 1:00pm with shiva following from 4pm to 8pm Sunday and Monday. Those who wish may join via a zoom livestream at:
