RIP David BillieSue and I will miss you :(

I have been trying to call David for the last 3 weeks and thought he was in Peru. I just found out today that he passed away and I am still in shock and sad that he is no longer with us. I loved David like a brother and will miss him very much. My condolences to his family and friends.

i met david 30 years ago in ithaca, when i was a 19 yr old architecture student at cornell u. he was a charismatic, brilliant entrepreneur, full of energy. i designed several stores for him back then, and we became close friends. i visited him in chicago when he was working with christie hefner at playboy, finding her real estate and other business deals. when david came back to new york city, where i live, we had a really great time together, and i even tried to fix him up with my sister-in-law. he eventually moved away, but he did come back and hire me to design his nyc satellite office on 57th street, near my architecture practice. when david would come to town, we would have dinner and talk for hours, catching up. he was the consummate story teller, and kept me laughing all night long. these last few years have been very exciting for him with the gold mines, and i was never surprised because david was an innovator, a man with foresight. 

my family and i were in miami a few months ago, and went to dinner with david and his daughter. that was the last time i saw my very dear friend. he called me a couple of weeks before his passing to tell me about his new venture and how we were going to work together again. i did look forward to it very much. his passing has been a real shock to me still, as i write this. i said goodbye to him at his funeral in miami, but it has not helped me deal with his passing. i loved him very much and will miss hearing him say "frank denner". we always spoke about going back to ithaca together, just to reminisce. i'm so sad we will never get to do that.

You were a great spirit and a great man. I will always remember you. Thank you
