

It is with great love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Elayne Berzok Tendrich, a cherished mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and beloved member of our community, who passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at the age of 90. Elayne was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Nathan and Pauline Berzok. The family later moved to Manhattan before settling in Miami, where she and her sister, Bree Robin, grew up. She often spoke fondly of her childhood in South Florida and loved sharing stories about the rich history of the city she held so dear.
Elayne met the love of her life, Judge Moie Tendrich, and together they raised a beautiful family in Pinecrest. She is survived by her children Gregory Tendrich (Kim Rutger) and Tammy McCormack (Michael McCormack); her grandchildren Taylor (Ryan Apt), Cole, Brittany, Macie, and Caroline; and her great-grandchildren Riley, Reece, and Remi. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Moie, her treasured sons Jeffrey and Robert, and her beautiful sister Bree Robin.
Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met. A proud founding and devoted member of Bet Shira Congregation, Elayne exemplified her deep commitment to her faith and community. She served as Sisterhood President, participated on numerous boards, and found tremendous comfort, purpose, and friendship through her involvement with Bet Shira. Elayne had a passion for travel, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
She was known for her radiant smile, impeccable style, and her signature nail polish and lipstick—traits that became her trademarks and brightened the lives of everyone around her.
She loved fiercely, adored her children, celebrated her five grandchildren, and cherished her three great-grandchildren. She often said she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved most.
Her legacy of love, strength, and grace will forever be remembered. Elayne leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and an enduring example of how to live with joy, compassion,
and elegance.
A funeral service will be held at Bet Shira Congregation, located at 7500 SW 120th St, Miami, FL 33156, on October 9, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Following the funeral service, a committal service will take place at Mount Nebo/Miami Memorial Gardens, located at 5505 NW 3rd St, Miami, FL 33126, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on the same day.
