Frances Krieger, 82, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Miami, Florida. Born on November 10, 1943, Frances lived a vibrant and full life, leaving behind cherished memories for those who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Elyse and Cesar Hurtado; her grandsons, Mathew Hurtado Torbay and his wife Paula, and Mitchell Hurtado. Frances was predeceased by her beloved daughter Stephanie Krieger; her parents, Sally and Murray Potemkin; and her brother David Potemkin.
Known affectionately as Franny to many, she embraced life with passion and love. Famous for her dinner parties and gourmet cooking, especially her legendary spaghetti and meat sauce, Fran brought people together through food, wine, fun, and laughter. Her home was always a place of joy and connection for her many close friends and family.
A graveside ceremony will be held at Lakeside Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, March 4, at 11:30 a.m., where family and friends will gather to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Fran’s name.
Frances Krieger will be remembered for the love and happiness she brought into the lives of everyone around her. She will be dearly missed but forever held in the hearts of those who loved her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
