Gerald J. Silverman, beloved husband of Liliane Grand'Bois Silverman and the late Ruby Palmer Silverman, took his last breath August 9, 2023 at his Shangrila home surrounded by loving family and caretakers.
A long time member of Bet Shira, Jerry decided to rejoin upon getting to know Rabbi Jesse Charyn. During the final weeks of Jerry’s life, Rabbi was there for end of life conversations, spiritual support, prayers and blessings.
Jerry was born in Toronto, Canada on August 1, 1936 and lived life to its fullest. From flying his own plane to navigating his 53 foot motor boat, fishing, scuba diving, growing orchids, riding his lawnmower or trailblazing his RV off country roads- life was always an adventure. He moved to the Miami area in 1978 where he had a long career as a financial advisor dealing mainly with physicians and was recognized by the industry and his peers for his professional caring work and dedication to his clients.
Jerry was predeceased by parents Alfred and Ada Silverman and and his sister Beverly Schwartz. Jerry is survived by his 6 children: Marc (Patti) Silverman, Faith (Jeff) Gleiberman, Heidi Prosserman, Adam (Ora) Silverman, Andrea (Brian) Rubin, and Natalie Grand’Bois. Grandfather of 12: Cara; Alee, Marlee, Max and Riley; Alex, Madeline, Sammy and Sarah; Ella, Paige, and Madison.
