She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood/Special Education from the University of Miami, which is where she first met her husband, Joe. While earning her degree, she worked at Burdines in Dadeland (which later became Macy’s), and truly enjoyed her job, her coworkers, and interacting with people. She loved her job so much, she made it her career. She worked there for many, many years, in many different capacities. Throughout her career at Macy’s, Ida received many commendations and earned many, many awards for outstanding sales and customer service. She was hard working, disciplined, and was great with people. Her customers loved her and always became repeat customers because of the amazing person she was and how wonderful she was to all who were lucky enough to cross her path. She enjoyed a healthy lifestyle and going to the gym. She had a love for flowers and gardening. She enjoyed the theater and attending Broadway shows with her husband, as well as fine dining. She had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was the most loyal, genuine, and empathetic person, and will be deeply missed by family, friends, coworkers, and all who knew her. The world was a better place for the years that she walked this earth. We may have lost Ida, but Heaven has definitely acquired an angel.
