Devoted brother to Mona Rosenthal, Sanford I. Rakofsky, MD and the late Henry Rakofsky.
Beloved father of Monica Winderbaum (Evan), David Scott Rakofsky, the late Michael Rakofsky, Darren Rakofsky Cohen, Ashley Rakofsky (Ronnie Aparicio), Erica Masdeu (Paul), Sean Rakofsky.
Adored grandfather of Aaron, Jilian, Eric, Robbie, Alison, Mia, and Paul Jr.
Much loved uncle of many nephews and nieces.
Joel was a colorful character, full of life and energy—a combination of Rocky Balboa and the Entertainer.
“He may not always say what you would have him say, but now and then he’ll say something wonderful.”
In the words of another song he sang often, he did it his way.
He will be missed.
Funeral Service to be held Tuesday, July 25, at 3 PM at Mt. Nebo Kendall . 5900 SW 77th Ave, Miami, FL 33143.
Shiva will take place immediately after the service and at 7 PM Wednesday evening at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Sanford Rakofsky, 77 Arvida Parkway, Coral Gables.
