Mildred “Millie” Koren passed away peacefully on October 25, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born on November 1, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Harry and Ida Feldman, Millie and her husband Sidney made their home in Miami Florida in 1968, where they raised their four sons. A long time member of Temple Beth Am, she could always be found sitting in the first row on the High Holidays with her family. A longtime proud volunteer at Baptist Hospital, she also was active in other charities, including Lorber and Hadassah. She loved old movies and celebrity trivia and was an excellent person to have on your team when you played trivial pursuit. She was an expert at making chicken soup and brisket. But most of all she loved her family, especially her devoted son Jay and cherished grandson Justin, who took care of her for the last many years with unwavering loyalty, love and kindness. She adored participating in her grandchildren’s events, always joyfully attending every basketball game, concert and theater production in which they were involved.
>> Millie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sidney, her parents Ida and Harry, her brother Robert Feldman and her sister Miriam Segan.
>> She is survived by her son Jay and daughter-in-law Joanne, son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Velaina, and sons Tedd (Beth) and David, her beloved grandchildren, Justin, Stephen (Jill), Jennifer (Sara), Daniel, Jonathan (Jaime), Seth, Shayna, Benjamin, Jacob and great grandchildren, Lily, Adam, Jayden and Taylor. The family extends heartfelt thanks and gratitude to her devoted caregiver, Martika Mendez. Sincere thanks also to caregiver Elisa Ortega.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, October 27 at 10 AM at Mount Nebo Kendall. Masks are suggested and appreciated.
