September 26, 1926 - August 24, 2021
Miami Beach, Florida - "What you do matters." Carl Hellman's favorite saying sums up his life as he would have wanted it: simply, without fuss and wholly accurately. Carl died peacefully, in his home on August 24, 2021. Born in Brooklyn, NY on September 26, 1926 to Max and Dora Hellman, Carl served his county in WWII as a Navy Medic and returned after the war to pursue chemical engineering at Syracuse University. A respected and revered colleague, manager and friend, he was incredibly successful in business and in life. He is preceded in death by two loving wives, Connie and Marilyn, and his sister Ruth. He is survived by 5 daughters as well as multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our deepest appreciation to Claire McIntosh who cared for Carl with love and compassion.
His absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate to call him family, friend and mentor. The family requests donations to the Syracuse University School of Engineering. May his memory be a blessing. What he did mattered to all who knew him.
