Sadly, I just learned of Richard's death. He and I were members of the Vanderbilt University Debate Team during our freshman and sophomore years in college. As debate team members, we competed in a number of college tournaments and won several awards. Richard was an outstanding student, debater, and, above all,  friend to many. Although our careers led us to attend different law schools and pursue different areas of the law, whenever I share memories about my college years with my wife and daughter, I always include stories about Richard Morrison, one of the greatest individuals I have ever known.

Richard was one of the finest gentleman I have ever met. He was a good friend. He was one of the best transactional lawyers in the world, yet he was so humble. He loved his work but he loved Jennifer, Elizabeth and Katharine much much more.

I am extremely saddened by Richard's passing.  He was a talented attorney, a mentor and friend to me and to many others.  As busy as he was, he always made the time to counsel and help his friends and colleagues.  My deepest sympathies to your family.

Richard was a true mentor. It was a privilege to work with him.

Beyond being a fantastic lawyer, Richard was a teacher, mentor and friend who truly cared about his colleagues. I am honored to have known and learned from him. Deepest condolences to his loved ones.

Richard was a trusted mentor and always looked out for everyone around him, he made us all feel like family at Weil.  We will miss him dearly.

Richard Morrison was one of the finest people I have met.  Every meeting, every call, every conversation with him was a delight.  On December 30, I and my partner Abbe Dienstag had a call in which I said to him, "Richard, if every lawyer we dealt with was as nice as you, we would all live 10 years longer."  I mourn his loss -- and our loss, for losing him.

Absolutely tragic.  We worked together for 5 years on Lehman Brothers.  Great lawyer but more importantly, wonderful person.  Deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

My deepest sympathies to Richard's family and colleagues.  We often shared a cup of coffee and a joke or two in the morning while I was at Weil. While I didn't work directly with him, he always made me feel that Weil was a family, not just a place to work.  I will miss him.
