Selma was born in Philadelphia on March 18, 1929. She resided in NE Philly with her beschert, Leon Berkowitz, until the great snow storm of 1996 swayed them to head south. They found their paradise in West Palm Beach, Florida. It was a wonderful time of life for them. Leon passed away in 2009, and Selma then lived at the Palace in Kendall for several years before moving to Harrisburg in 2013 to start the next chapter of her graceful life.
There was never a more devoted and loving mother, grandmother, cousin, aunt and friend than she. Selma will forever be cherished by her three sons and daughters-in-law (the “in-law” designation being a technicality), Bob and Cathy Berkowitz, Alan and Felicia Berkowitz, and Mark Berkowitz, as well as her grandchildren, Emily Berkowitz, Matthew and Carla Berkowitz, Scott Berkowitz, Annie (Berkowitz) and Jordan Trachtenberg, and Katie (Berkowitz) and Etan Aber, as well as her adopted grandchildren, Shardae and Laurence Carter, and her adopted great grandchildren, Braylin and Bryce Carter.
We will miss her weather reports, her worrying about everything, and her keeping all of us in touch with family and friends.
She Loved everyone. And we will always Love her.
