Alice Ruth Kelly, loving mother and nana, entered her eternal heavenly home on May 14, 2026, surrounded by family. Born August 23, 1950, in Patuxent River, Maryland, she lived most of her adult life in Jacksonville, Florida, before moving to South Carolina in 2020 to reside with her daughter and son-in-law. As a child, she lived with her grandparents in West Virginia for a short time. She cherished those years and lovingly spoke of the bond she felt with West Virginia, her grandparents, and family there, in addition to her parents and siblings.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed working as a data processor, as well as pursuing a variety of interests that became hobbies, including cake decorating, flower arranging, gardening, and crafting.
Spending time with her children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, and church family was her greatest joy. A fighter, she met many of life’s challenges with faith, determination, and laughter. She was a good sport who accepted jokes and teasing with grace and good humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Jean Ferrell; her husband, Kenneth “KC” Kelly; her son, Daniel Huffman; and her brother, Dave Ferrell.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Kerri Hicks (Steve) and Kristi McTee (Chris); her grandchildren, Kali Browning (Zach), Dakota McTee, Ryan McTee, and Ciara McTee; one stepson and two step-grandchildren; her sister, Lois Prescott (Gerald); her brothers, Rick Ferrell (Pamela) and Paul Ferrell (April); her sister-in-law, Kaye Roling (Johnny), and Hellen Ferrell (Dave); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on May 26, 2026, at 103rd Street Church of God at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Cliff Gobble will officiate. A graveside service will follow at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m.
