

B. Charlotte Hetrick-Hancock, age 90, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025. She was born to the late Sarah Maybel (Hancock) and J. Floyd Hetrick in San Juan, Texas. B.Charlotte was a loving and devoted mother of 2, grandmother of 12, great grandmother of 30 and great great grandmother of 7. She was a force to be reckoned with and the matriarch of her family. She leaves a legacy and a void in the lives of so many, family and friends alike. A true beauty queen, she won many pageants. In 1950 she was crowned one of the most beautiful and photogenic girls in the valley. She advanced to Miss Texas in 1951 before deciding to step away to start a family. When her boys were school aged, she studied cosmetology and opened MaLady Salon to support them. She was a certified Lifeguard and swim instructor and took great pride in teaching her family and friends to swim at early ages. She completed her bachelors degree graduating Summa Cum Laude from Pan American University and once her children were grown, dabbled in teaching before starting her career with the United Sates Government as an Immigration Officer. She dedicated over forty years of her life in service to our country. B. Charlotte was selfless and had a generous heart, always including others in her shopping endeavors! Baking, cooking and swimming were her other hobbies. Then came FarmVille, her favorite pastime!
She was preceded in death by both parents and brother Joseph (Barbara) Hetrick. B. Charlotte is survived by her sons; David Lee Hancock (Mary) and Floyd Freeman (Dee); beloved granddaughter Ami Kowalski; Brother David Lee Hetrick; many descendants and extended family and friends.
She will have two Celebrations of Life.
First will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 am at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home located at 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Florida 32068. A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 am and service after.
Second will be Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:00 am at Roselawn Cemetery & Mausoleum at 1201 S Main St, McAllen, TX 78504 with a luncheon after at 11:00 am at Luby's Cafeteria , 4901 North 10th St, McAllen, TX 78504.
