I am Benji’s cousin Ben. We grew up together and he lived behind my family’s house. Benji was my older Brother I never had! Benji was five years older than me. Every time I got in trouble my mom would call him to our house and give him “lickins too”! My mom always claimed she never had any patience for me because Benji SUCKED IT OUT of her when she was taking care of him as a child.

Benji would ALWAYS call me for my Birthday  and special Holidays!  For the past two years I wondered why he hadn’t called. I texted, emailed and called him with no reply.

My youngest  Brother died unexpectedly last Friday in LA. We are currently in the hotel room and my wife asked if my Brother Ed was close to Benji. I told my wife I had already texted Benji. My wife said it was really unusual for Benji not to keep in touch. That’s when my wife had the brilliant idea to Goggle Benji’s name.  That’s how I learned my cousin and BIG BROTHER had passed.

Sadness cannot describe how I feel now,  to lose a person you knew as your BIG BROTHER.

My condolences to his family for losing such a warm, sharingand jovial Person.

Mr. Natividad was a client of mine for his insurance needs and that alone should tell you the kind of character the man had. For someone that only saw him once a month to pay a bill or make changes to his account he really left quite the impression. He always had a big smile on his face and always had us laughing. Each time he'd come into the office he would make a joke about me needing to slow down on the hamburgers because my belly was getting bigger each time he saw me. (He knew I was expecting and knew this made me laugh) I can only imagine how much he must be missed by those who loved him, because for even just the shortest amount of time that I knew him he really touched my heart. My sincere condolences go out to all of his friends and family. He truly will be missed.

Ben welcomed us as family when my husband Rich transferred in late 1980s from Ca to Hi in the Fed Fire Dept. One of the funniest men I ever met.  My heart aches but yet is joyous to have know him.  Rest in peace dear Ben.
