

Dale Fredrickson, 80, passed away on December 31, 2025. He was born on June 10, 1945 in Mankato, Minnesota to Gladys and Edward Fredrickson, one of four boys. He attended St Clair High School and graduated in the class of 1963. He served a long career in the Navy where he had the opportunity to live in many areas of the United States. His favorite was New Orleans but at the end of his career his wife Geraldine and he decided to retire where his career began, Jacksonville, FL . He retired with the ranking of Command Master Chief Petty Officer. Following his military service, he continued to contribute to the Navy as a civilian employee at NAS Jax.
He had many interests in his life time but the one his daughters remember most is his love of wood working. He would spend many nights working on projects in his home workshop. He had a strong passion, along with his wife Gerladine for square dancing. They were members of several groups including Moose Promenaders, Gypsy Squares, Florida Association National Square Dance Campers, Fifth Saturday Dance Chairmen for North East Square and Round Dance Association. They even combined square dancing with their love of RV camping. Dale was very proud of his campers. His children often laugh at the fond memories of their dad’s passion for cutting down trees it was as if he had the soul of a lumberjack inside him.
Dale was a good friend to have; his daughters remember him always helping neighbors with projects around their homes. He continued to do so to the very end. He was always working on some project he was passionate about.
He is survived by his children, Dawn Fredrickson, Dale Sinclair, and Sonya Shelley, and his grandchildren, Max Shelley and Molly Shelley. Dale is also survived by his brothers, Doug Fredrickson and Charles Fredrickson. After Geraldine's passing, he was fortunate to find love again with Joann Engum and later with Patricia Everett.
A visitation will be held on January 8, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL 32068. A committal service will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
