Daniel L. Butts entered eternal rest on May 10, 2025. Born on December 22, 1973, in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was the beloved son of the late Henry L. Butts and Willie Mae Butts. Daniel lived a life filled with love, laughter, creativity, and a strong devotion to his faith and family.
A proud member of Elevate Life Church Oakleaf — and an instrumental champion for Christ through several ministries over his lifetime — Daniel loved worship, especially through music. His voice and joyful spirit lifted many hearts. A true creative, Daniel enjoyed movies, theatre, and playing in the band during his youth. He had a deep love for music—gospel and R&B most of all—and he sang with every ounce of his soul.
Daniel was a proud foodie, always ready to enjoy a meal with family or friends. He cherished time with loved ones and was known for his humor, warmth, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. Above all, he was a devoted husband to Kimberly Butts, his loving wife of 26 years, and a proud father to Ian, Alexander, and Savoy.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry L. Butts, brothers Willie J. Battle, Thomas Battle, Donnie Ray Green, and sister Debra Butts.
He is survived by his wife Kimberly; sons Ian and Alexander; daughter Savoy; mother Willie Mae Butts; brothers John Butts, Bishop Samuel Butts (Rose), Henry L. Butts Sr. (Jing), William B. Butts (Nodica); sisters Donna Butts Victory, Grace Butts, Allison Butts-Gist (Reggie), Paula Butts, and Sarah Butts Green; and sisters-in-law Anna Battle and Ramona Green.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Elevate Life Church, 8650 Merchants Way, Jacksonville, FL 32222
