Denistor Mendez-Paredes passed away on March 3, 2026, at the age of 70. Cano was born on May 23, 1955 in San Antonio, P.R. He proudly served his country after enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1972. Through dedication and perseverance, he rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, serving honorably for 27 years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen E. Paredes and Jose R. Mendez, and is survived by his brother, Joe Mendez.
He shared 50 loving years of marriage with his wife Diane . He was a devoted father to Michael Mendez (wife, Kristina) and Tanya Shaneyfelt (husband, Andrew), and a proud grandfather to Gabriel, Grace, Colby, Alexa, Skyler, and Nate.
Cano was a man of deep faith, honor, and integrity who loved God and his family above all. His love, strength, and guidance will live on in all who knew him.
He now is in the presence of the Lord, and we hold onto the promise that we will one day see him again.
