Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL 32068. Loved ones are also welcome to join in the Celebration of Life immediately following the services at the home of his sister, Francie, at 3133 Veronica Avenue, Middleburg, FL 32068.
Eddie was born on July 11, 1967, the son of the late Robert Lukens and the late Regina Long, nee Kennedy. He will be greatly missed by his son, Edward Lukens, Jr. (Stephanie) of Philadelphia PA; his daughter, Crystal Hesse (Jerry) of Nashville TN; his stepson, Robert Widmer of Jacksonville FL; his 5 grandchildren Nick, Rylie, Lexy, Bella, Xander and Deacon; and his siblings Ronnie (Patty), Debbie (John), Francie (Larry) and Dawn (Jay). His many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, as well as his numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death his brother, Billy.
No one would argue that Eddie was one of a kind – if you met him, you remembered him. He was the type of person that would help a total stranger even though he didn’t have much himself. He loved being called “Special Ed”, and he always said what was on his mind – for better or worse, but you always knew it came from a place of love. No matter what he had going on in his life, he was always there with a smile, a joke, a shoulder to cry on, or whatever you needed. He was crazy as hell but loved everyone. His crazy jokes and comments – that could at times be so embarrassing – will now be sorely missed.
We want to thank his employer, Peninsular Pest Control of Jacksonville FL for their concern and support. Eddie worked for Peninsular for almost 24 years. He was proud of his work and his relationships with coworkers and customers.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hollyhillfunerals.com for the LUKENS family.
