

It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Henry D. Baessler, who left this world on May 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Henry's life was known for the love, dedication, and warmth he shared with everyone
who knew him. He would always help those in need in any way he could. He was born in the sun-drenched paradise of Key West, Florida, Henry was the last child of Doug and Edna Baessler, the baby of the family. His early years were spent surrounded by 6 siblings and the vibrant beauty of the Florida Keys, where
he developed a lifelong passion for the ocean, boating, and fishing. The waves and gentle breezes of Key West were as much a part of him as his own heartbeat. He was a Conch to his core. Henry was a proud graduate of the Key West High School Class of 1976 and he went on to become a highly skilled Collision Auto-Body technician. Henry was a master of his trade, renowned for his ability to fix anything, and he took immense pride in his work. His dedication and skill earned him the admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Henry's heart belonged to his beloved Huskies, who were his constant companions and a source of immense joy and comfort throughout his life. Their loyalty and unconditional love mirrored the kindness and compassion that Henry extended to all living creatures.
Henry was predeceased by his parents, Doug Sr. and Edna Baessler, as well as his siblings Doug Jr and Jeannie. He is survived by his devoted partner, Sheila Lathrop, and his sisters Linda Hill, Jo Baessler, Bridget Thompson, and Eileen Baessler.
His legacy also lives on through his numerous nieces and nephews and his grand nieces and nephews. Henry's battle with cancer was fought with the courage and dignity that defined his character. In his final moments, he found peace at home, surrounded by partner Sheila and his 5 Huskies, who stood vigil by his side, offering solace and companionship.
A small private ceremony of life will be held at a later date to honor Henry's life, as was his wish. Though Henry Baessler has departed from this earthly realm, his spirit will forever remain intertwined with the song of the sea and the whisper of the wind through
the pines of Key West.
