Joseph Mashon Odum, Jr., age 63, passed away on June 22, 2021 in Middleburg, Florida. Joseph was born on July 30, 1957 to Joseph Mashon and Thelma Lucille (Barrett) Odum in Orange Park, Florida. He attended Ed White School, of Jacksonville, Florida. He was the owner of Joe Odum Drywall, Inc. He was a proud veteran. Joseph was loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, BBQ’s, spending time outside on his back porch with his family and grandson, Josiah, and also liked the Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Thelma Odum. He is survived by his wife, Jamie Lauren Odum; his son, Joseph “J.J.” Odum; grandson, Josiah Mashon James Odum; 2 sisters: Wanda Allen, Sharon Johnson, and Melissa Odum; and brother, Wayne Odum.
A memorial service and celebration of Joseph’s life will be held on Friday, July 9th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Florida 32068. The family will receive friends one hour prior beginning at noon. Dr. Timothy E. McDaniel will serve as officiant of the service.
