Gene “Shipmate” White, 67, passed away on February 19, 2013. He was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa and retired 20+ years from the US Navy. Mr. White is survived by his loving wife, Sherrill R. White; 3 sons: Charles (Christy) Shelton, Christopher White and Thomas (Leigh) Shelton; 2 daughters: Charlene (SFC Anthony) Greene and Jenette (Kyle) Rausch; brother, Vernon (Mel) White; sister, Patricia (Russell) Brownlee; and 12 grandchildren. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at HOLLY HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3601 Old Jennings Rd, Middleburg, FL. Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL with Chappy Robert Lucas and Patricia Lucas officiating.
