She was born on August 23, 1948, in Gaffney, South Carolina, to John Robert McCulloch and Catherine Irene Millen.
In 1966, she graduated from Gaffney High School. She went on to marry her husband, the late Herbert Archie Sparks, on December 8, 1968. They moved to Jacksonville, Florida, and were married for 43 loving years. She worked in restaurants, retail, and wholesale for many years.
She and her spouse, Herbert Archie Sparks, attended and were members of their local Chapter 38 Disabled Veterans unit. They were both so very delighted in raising funds for the veterans. Libby would sew special blankets, hats, jackets, etcetera to take to the veterans on special holidays down at the VA Medical Center in Lake City and Gainesville. She and Archie both were some of the top fundraisers for the organization.
She loved her family very much and was the most caring, kind, beautiful, and wonderful Mother on Earth. She had a "Heart of Gold". She was known for her giving personality of always wanting to help individuals in need in different types of situations.
Libby is preceded in death by her spouse, Herbert Archie Sparks; her mother, Catherine Millen; her father, John McColloch; and five brothers, Woodrow Millen, Johnny Millen, Frank Millen, Floyd Millen, and Gary Millen.
Libby is survived by her daughter, Tina Marie Zeigler (Victor II); granddaughter, Victoria Kristina Zeigler (Ethan); siblings, Mary Willis, Pearl Scruggs, Earl Millen, Pete Millen, and Gary Millen, all of Gaffney, South Carolina and Boiling Springs, South Carolina, as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
Services are as follows: Wednesday March 1, 2023 from 5-7:00pm will be the viewing and visitation at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Chapel, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg. Funeral Service will be Thursday March 2, 2023 at 1:00pm at Black Pond Baptist Church, 3644 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg. Graveside will follow at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Cemetery. Immediately following graveside services food and refreshments will be served at Black Pond Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
