Shirley Jean Brady,84, passed away peacefully on August 26,2021 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Fl. She was born in Chicago,Illinois to James and Florence Clutter on November 13, 1936. After graduating high school and secretarial college she worked for the FBI, a law firm and retired as an administrative assistant for the Dean of the college of Education at the University of Florida. She was a devout Catholic and sang in the church for many years. She was also a member of the Gainesville Civic Chorus for many years. She loved to travel, read and was an amazing gardener. There was not a plant she couldn't grow.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, James Brady and is survived by her children: Michael (wife: Panida) Brady, Brian (wife: Kathleen) Brady, Dr. Sheryl (husband: Troy) Ely, and Kathryn (husband: Stuart) Maclean: grandchildren Kristopher and Allie Brady, Katherine and Mike Powanda, Kelly Brady, Kassandra and Brian Kirkland, Monica and Corbin Boland, Liam Maclean, Ryan Maclean, Jessica Ely and Travis Ely;10 great grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be held Saturday September 11, 2021 at Holy Faith Catholic church 747 NW 43rd Street Gainesville, FL 32607.
