

Zena Mae Kohn Lee was born June 8,1933 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Simon H. Kohn and Elouise Kohn. Zena graduated from Stanton High School and continued her education by attending Duval County Vocational School for Practical Nursing and Columbia Hospital of Richland County School of Nursing in South Carolina. She reached her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida in August 1961. Zena began a nursing career at Duval Medical Center. She became a dedicated employee of University Hospital where she retired after 37 years of service as a Nursing Supervisor. After retiring she re-enrolled in college to fill her days and earned a Doctoral degree in Biblical Studies. Zena leaves to cherish her memories her devoted son Byron (Chandra) three grandchildren, Brockni Lee (Stephanie), Breoni Lee and Czdari Lee who affectionately called her “Zmom”. She was blessed with two great- grandchildren, Bryson and Brayden Lee. Her god-sister, Norma McCrary, sisters, Rosa Lee Grant and Linda Outlaw and brother Emmett Kohn, many cousins, nieces, nephews and family friends. Zena was predeceased by adopted mother, Delta Cave, sister, Francis Scott and brothers, Sonny Kohn, Frederick Kohn, Joseph Kohn and Irvin Kohn. A special thank you for the care given by Deborah Felton (sister) and the support given to her by Beverly Mitchell (sister) and Michael Lee (brother).
A visitation for Zena will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL 32068, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment to follow.
