Alan and I were part of a group of young, carefree friends during our teen years and early twenties. We shared laughter, adventures and questions about what it would be like to become true adults. Many, many happy memories! Once, during a group beach trip, Alan and I missed our ride at Myrtle Beach. So, we had to walk all the way back to Crescent Beach, along the ocean. It took us all day and we both suffered sunburned lips, that swoll up! We laughed at each other for days. 
   A few years later, we lost touch, but Alan found my husband and I and invited us to drive over to his house to meet his new wife to be. He was excited to plan his wedding. 
    Then, more than 35 years later.....Alan showed up at my oldest son's wake. He was there for me when my 32 year old son died suddenly. He stayed for a few days and checked in with me, took me to the park and to dinner. He gave me a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear. I was so touched. He called from time to time to see how I was doing.       I think friendship ran deep in Alan.  His heart was bigger than we knew. And his dedication to care for family and friends was very very important to him

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all you’ve done for us! Im so grateful to be apart of the family. You welcomed me with open arms from the beginning. You were Always a smiling face to see. We had so many fun times. I know this isn’t permanent and we will see each other again. Till then I’ll I have the joy and honor to be with your amazing daughter and raise your grandchildren.  I promised you I would. I love you Popi Alan. 

My most memorable moments with you always included laughter, wherever we were.  You lived “in the moment”, and enjoyed life to the fullest, especially with your family and your faith.  You always made me feel like a little sis, and I love you for it. Life won’t be the same without you, my Southern gentleman.  Fly high, sweet Alan, fly high ~

To my Dear older Brother ! What a Life We had together. Looking back I wouldn’t change a thing ! I’ll miss our daily Bull Session. Hug Pop for me, I’ll be there before you know it ! What can you say about Brotherly Love ! It will last FOREVER !

I couldn’t have asked for a better uncle. You taught me so much in life. You made me smile every day and happy and also taught me how to have a good time. I will miss you so much you will always be in my heart and never for gotten. No one can ever replace you as the best uncle you will always be my number one.
