Carol Ann Austin

Born August 2, 1947, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Carol was a daughter of the late Willie Troy Austin and Della Summers Austin. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. The only thing she loved more than her family was the Lord. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers, James Austin, Robert Austin, Donald Austin and Richard Austin; sisters, Dot Swaim and Nancy McLeod; sisters-in-law, Betty Austin, Marcell Austin and Lucille Austin; and brother-in-law, Ernest Swaim.

Carol is survived by her nephew, Thomas and his wife, Melisa McLeod; nieces, Susan McLeod and Christy Austin; great-nieces and nephews, Emily Mar and her husband, Lance, and Matthew McLeod; brothers, Bill Austin (Gwen) and Roy Austin (Angie); sister-in-law, Carolyn Austin; and numerous other family members.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. The Rev. John Harrill of Hickory Grove Baptist Church will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, North Carolina 28081.
