He was born on October 23, 1933 in Mecklenburg Co, NC to the late Robert and Mary Hegler Plummer.
Mr. Plummer served in the US Army. He worked as a Supervisor at Standard Trucking and a Dock Worker for Yellow Freight. Don was a hardworking, compassionate and dedicated man. He loved his Lord and was a witness wherever he went, even in his last days at Carillon. Everything he started, he completed, never leaving anything unfinished.
Don is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Rogers Plummer; daughter, Donette Kurtz (Del) and two granddaughters, Reba and Kelly Bass.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille Sisk Hatley, Christine Mullins and Ella Mae Plyer and brother, Robert Plummer, Jr.
A visitation will be held from 11:30am until 1:00pm on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Idlewild Baptist Church, 12701 Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC 28105 with a funeral service following at 1:00pm.
The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Idlewild Baptist Church.
