Doris Ann Wallace Price passed away into life eternal late Saturday evening, August 10, 2019, at her home in Midland, North Carolina, in the company of her loving and supportive family. She was 88 years old.

Born July 14, 1931 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, Mrs. Price was a daughter of the late Floyd Edgar Wallace and Theatus Blanche Simpson. She was a member of the 1949 graduating class of Oakhurst High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Following graduation, Mrs. Price went to work for Sears, Roebuck and Company in downtown Charlotte where she met the love of her life, Tommy Price. In 1954, they started Price Grading Service. She was born into the church family of Amity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte and in later years, along with her husband, Tommy, attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Wesley Chapel, North Carolina.

Mrs. Price will be remembered, first and foremost, as an adoring child of God, as well as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a lover of cats and dogs and any kind of wildlife, which could be found in abundance in the fields and woods around her home. She was an exemplary humanitarian and friend to all; she truly showed love to everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Price was predeceased by her husband, Thomas L. Price on August 22, 2012; a sister, Patsy Wallace Elms; and an infant brother, Thomas Oscar Wallace.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Price of Midland, North Carolina and Paul Price and wife, Laura, of Stanfield, North Carolina; her daughter, Mary Ann Price Conard and husband, Dennis, of Stanfield, North Carolina; and two granddaughters who brought her great joy, Carrie and Hannah Conard.

I remember seeing Mrs. Price at school or at the Conard's and every time I saw her I was always struck by how pleasant and gracious she was. She always had a smile on her face and thanked me more than once for teaching her granddaughters. Even though I know she will be so missed, what a wonderful legacy to leave this world with her wonderful daughter and granddaughters. Love you Mary Ann, Dennis, Carrie, and Hannah

Mama Doris
You will be missed terribly. However, Mary Ann, Jeffrey, Paul, Carrie, Hannah and the rest of the extended family will have peace and comfort knowing you are safe in the arms of Jesus and they will be okay. We all will. You have left a legacy of being the most sweet, generous Godly woman we’ve ever known. We should all strive to live our lives as you did. You always treated me like another daughter. I am blessed to have had the pleasure of knowing you since 1973. Godspeed, tell Tommy hello and we shall meet again. ❤️

It's not often you meet a person who as a friend, and especially as a parent and grandparent are gentle, loving, kind, always concerned, and a very hard worker all rolled into one on a consistent basis. Doris was one of those rare people. . . Often we want to say good things (compliments) about others after they pass on to the next life, but Doris always expressed her love and an saw the good in people in the here and now. She was ALWAYS very kind to me, showing genuine concern and interest every time I saw her. It didn't matter if I hadn't seen her in a year or 20 years, she was always the same beautiful, caring soul. I have grown to know Jesus through the example of a select few, and Doris Price is one of those people, All Glory To God. I can't help but feel that when she drew her strength from Jesus she remembered His words to the Pharisees and particularly to the world and that is " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. "The second is like it, ' YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' What an awesome legacy for one to leave their family and friends. Mary Ann, Jeffrey, Paul, Carrie, Hannah, Dennis, and the rest of the family, my prayers are with you. As you all experience the great void that she left behind, I know there is also great joy in your hearts that she is finally getting to see those big hands of her loving husband Tommy Price reach out to her to escort her into the even bigger hands of our ETERNAL FATHER. PRAISE JESUS!!!

It has been an honor to know Doris for many years and I will always have fond memories of the precious life she lived. I remember her honesty and kindness to all who knew her, having never heard her say an unkind word about anyone. As we examine ourselves, I would say this is a wonderful example to follow. Rest In Peace dear Doris.
