Estelle Arnold "Roxie" Rosenbalm

Estelle Muriel "Roxie" Arnold Rosenbalm, 92, of Charlotte, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Mecklenburg Health Care Center. Born December 12, 1919, in Washington County, VA, Estelle was the middle child of the late Floyd Monroe Arnold and Mary Ada Mitchell Arnold. She attended Washington County and Abingdon schools.

Estelle married Robert Benjamin Rosenbalm October 31, 1936. In 1940, they relocated to Boone, NC, where Mr. Rosenbalm was in the dairy business. The Rosenbalm's were active in church affairs and were founding members of Greenway Baptist Church in Boone.

In 1961, the Rosenbalm’s moved again, to Charlotte, where they became members of Enderly Park Baptist Church, now known as University Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Rosenbalm obtained her GED at age 52, and worked in various retail positions.

Estelle loved her home, husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her flowers, sewing and reading all kind books, with her Bible being her favorite.

In addition to her parents, preceding Mrs. Rosenbalm in death were her husband of 60 years, and their younger son, Richard.

Survivors include her children, Robert Rosenbalm (Delores), Joan R. Roeder (Michael), and Sharon R. Floyd (Terry), all of the Charlotte area. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Marc Rosenbalm of Asheville, Robin R. Baltimore and Sue Roeder Livingston, of Charlotte, Kelly Roeder LeVoyer of Raleigh, Kevin Roeder of Toledo, OH, Christopher Floyd of Concord, and Jeffrey Floyd of Charlotte; and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Adam Baltimore, Benjamin Livingston, and Ava and Henry LeVoyer.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint-Hill Road, with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dr. E. Coye Still, III will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
