James Avery Hall

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Buchanan Hall, sons; Keith and Kenny (Nancy), daughters; Debbie Trotter (Tom), Dana Scott and Melissa Smith (Luke), grandchildren; Emily Vermillion (Adam), Luke and Faith Hall, Cassidy, Riley and Hallie Scott, Esther and Nora Smith, sisters; Kathleen Allen, Mary Lou Howell and Martha Williams, brothers; William, Jack, Wayne and Harry Hall, along with their spouses and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wonderful parents, Howard David and Connie Hall, brother, Sidney Hall and sister, Margaret Robinson.

He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway in 1991 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed his retirement spending time with his grandchildren, his family and many friends he had made over the years.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Charlotte, NC 28227. Funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Carolina Baptist Men Shelby Mission Camp, P.O. Box 1047, Shelby, NC 28150.
