Lucille Buff Stephens

Her family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 4, at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M. in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Arnie Corriher and the Rev. Dianne Lawhorn will officiate. Interment will be at 4:00 P.M. at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC.

Mrs. Stephens was born March 6, 1911 in Greenville, SC to the late Lalia and Vance Buff. She worked at the J.P. Stevens Monaghan Plant for over 40 years. Mrs. Stephens was a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, where she participated in the Music Makers Band for many years. She was also a member of the Annie Cordell Sunday School Class, Group Rachel and Golden Years Club. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband, William M. “Bud” Stephens. She was a treasure to all who knew her.

Surviving are her daughter, Janice Hinson and husband, Colin; grandson, Scott Hinson and wife, Marcia; granddaughter, Susan Fennell and fiancée, David Oliver; and two great-grandchildren, Sheridan Fennell and Hunter Fennell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 6401 Hickory Grove Road, Charlotte, NC 28215.
