

Frances Williams, 80, of Mint Hill, passed away at Lawyers Glen Nursing Home, on October 17, 2012, surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She will always be remembered as a kind and generous woman. She spent many years caring for children in the community who loved her like a mother and whom she loved like her own. “MawMaw” as she was known to many will be sorely missed. She was an avid cook, gardener and crafter. She was an active member in her church and with the Senior Games.
The most important things in her life were her family and friends. She is survived by the love of her life, Jack Williams Sr., married 64 years. She is also survived by her daughter Barbara Lowe, son Jack Williams Jr. and wife, and son Jimmy Williams and wife. She has 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 loving sisters, Dot Prather, Jean Grayson and Anne Winkler. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Lee Jones, father, Jim Jones, and sister, Margaret Carter.
Her husband and daughter would like to thank the nursing staff and kitchen staff at Lawyers Glen Nursing Home for all the love they showed Mama. Also, a special thanks to the Hospice Staff that cared for her.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at two o’clock in the chapel at McEwen in Mint Hill 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd Charlotte, NC 28227.
