We should all aspire to be as fondly remembered as Barry.

I'm devastated. Barry taught me everything I know about intelligent, flexible and solid software design. His natural inventiveness was unparalleled. He would think up twelve workable solutions to a problem in five minutes when most people might think of three. His productivity was remarkable. He could write more good code in a weekend than most competent developers could write in three months. He was so much fun to work with. He was so smart that he would clearly explicate the most complicated of problems to you, and have you understand in such a way that you actually thought that you were smart. He was so generous and collegial. The world is now less rich. For me, Barry was the brightest flame at Candle.

Barry always had time to help me.  I'll try to pay that forward.
