Thank you to all of you who loved my father as much as I do. Your prayers will be with him.

Hesby Oaks isn't the same without him. I miss his schmoozing every time I come into the office. I hope his family finds comfort in knowing how many people loved and respected David. He really left his mark on so many people and children.

We are all so sorry to hear about the tragic loss of David. Although it has been many, many years since we have been in touch, your family is in our prayers at this time. May all your good memories comfort you.

David's family and my family moved into the same building in Flushing, Queens, New York in 1960.I was 5 years old, he was 7 years old. He and my brother became very close friends and remained so for many, many years. He spent a lot of time in our apartment and I considered him a good friend as well. His wonderful sense of humor that other people have written of was already evident when he was just a young boy. I have many very fond memories of David and was so so sad to hear of his passing.  May his wife, children, and brother Howard take solace in the fact that they were fortunate to have him in their lives for the time that they did. Rest in peace, David

Mr.   Hirsch was one of the very  few nice people Wilshire Crest had to offer..   I have a picture of him stooping down by my  then  5 yr old son . I was just looking at that picture before reading and seeing his obit.  I am SO sorry to hear this and so sad for his family..   I was an assistant there  at the time. I enjoyed working with Mr. Hirsch so much during summer school. He was so much fun and a true gentleman. He was so funny! He was truly one of a kind. I will keep his family in my thoughts and prayers during this time. We are lucky to have known him; I wish more leaders in education were like him.

David was one of a kind who stood out from the crowd.  He was a special soul that I was fortunate to know.  May he be blessed for all that he gave to our world.  What a role model for his family and all those who knew him.  Rest in Peace!!!

I am incredibly saddened by this. As a member of TAS and as a teacher myself ,I had opportunities to talk to David about his philosophy of teaching. He had such a great sense of humor and a warm caring character which I feel principals should have. He loved this profession and was   wonderful to the families and his students.. I have heard that from temple and from the schools. He gave me some good advice about teaching a while back which made me smile. His wife Debra were my children's teachers in Sunday school and she is incredible. This is a tremendous loss.. My love to the family and sincerest condolences to Debra, Noah, and Jordan. Sue Dubow

We are so sorry to hear this very sad news today. If you needed a laugh or if things needed to be "lightened up" Mr. Hirsch was the man to do it. Blessings to his wife and sons and family. May his legacy live on within his sons and his spirit live on with all the students that were lucky enough to know him.

He will be missed more than words can say. Our Friday nights will never be the same without hearing his weekly message. We were blessed to know you Mr. Hirsch and will never ever forget you.

Mr. Hirsch served as a pillar of happiness for our family. He took beautiful care of our precious 3 children at Wilbur Elementary, and until this week, also at Hesby Oaks. He treated my wife and me, as VIP's. He was the reason we arrive at school early every day, why we never miss a day of school, and why our 3 kids strive for academic excellence. Mr. Hirsch was our best friend. His kindness, modesty, empathy, and smartness will go unmatched. We will love you and miss you always. SHER FAMILY.

Mr. Hirsch was a wonderful man.  Generous of spirit, kind and caring towards others, and a marvelous principal and advocate for his teachers and students.  He will be missed.

We have lost a good man and a gentle soul.  He will be missed.  He will be remembered for the love and support he gave the students he worked with everyday.

I had a ball working with David at Wilshire Crest! We had a mutual love of fine cigars... he was my AP when I taught a classroom of 5th Grade Deaf kids. I am so sorry this happened. He was very cool and supportive of me and gave good advice! God bless your family in this tragic time. I'm sure he has left a lot of fans out here! I'm definitely one.

Dear Debra, 
Words cannot give much comfort when you are suffering such an incredible loss. I have fond memories of seeing you and David at TAS.  You both have always been so warm and welcoming to me; a part of my extended temple family.  I have always admired your dedication to your work, your community, and most of all, your family bond. I remember stopping by your house one weekend afternoon and I saw your family enjoying some music and pool time together.  You and David made a house full of joy. Please accept our sincere condolences to you, Noah, and Jordan.

We are saddened to say that Principal David Hirsch passed away this morning. He will be deeply missed. We thank him for all his kindness and his hard work for making Hesby such a wonderful school.  With a heavy heart it saddens our family that Hesby Oaks will never be the same again. 
Thank you to Mr. Hirsch for everything you  accomplished and worked so hard for. And our thoughts and prayers to his wife and sons.  May they find their peace in sorrow.  ??
