Peter was the best big brother ever. From introducing me to my first skateboard to pinning me down on my back and dangling loogies over my face. I love you. 

Peter was a great friend and someone you could always count on. For the people that were closest to him Myself His GF Brenda,Ryan,Chris, Cory and Sean we are always going to feel a deep lose in our hearts. The holidays will be hard without him there to sit around the table and play games all day on thanksgiving or At christmas time to help set up the tree or even go through his easter basket that i made him. It still doesn't feel real and my heart breaks knowing we will never hear your voice again. RIP dear friend we will never forget you! We miss and love you Pete

I met Peter at Moorpark College while running track and field. I was fortunate enough to become friends with him and see him tear up the track in his 400m races. Peter was such a friendly, funny just all around good guy. I think back to some of our conversations and I'm so happy that they happened. Of course, as with anything, we all went our separate way after Moorpark College. But somehow a couple of years back Peter and I re-connected again on facebook. He'd leave comments on my running pictures- always funny and positive. That was him. It's ironic to me that people will re-appear in your life, even if it's just for a moment, before they leave this world. To me, it seems like God's way of giving comfort to those of us left behind to miss and remember them. 
May Peter's soul rest in perfect peace.

Peter always made me laugh. Some of the best times in my life were with him. He taught me to not let anyone tell me how to live my life and to never give up on my dreams. I knew Peter on many levels. To his core he was the most awesome guy. Pure soul. He was always smiling but didn't let anyone mess with him either. I believe that his heart and soul were on full display each and every time he ran. It was if he became exactly what he knew he was each race. I haven't met anyone, still to this day, that knows exactly what they were born to do, but Peter knew. He was born fighting for his life and never gave up on his dream of becoming an Olympian. I know he would have made it. He was without a doubt born to run, born to inspire and to teach us all that no matter what we go through in life, no matter how many obstacles, we can always come out on top. I will miss him so much. I have endless memories and so many hilarious stories I'll cherish forever. Every run I go on for the rest of my life will be in Peter's honor.  Run in Peace Petaahh!!!   P.s. Whenever I see a goat with a beard I think of you.... Peter knows what I'm talking about lol

Dear Ilan and Mera, I knew Pter to be determined, goal-oriented, motivated, a fighter, and loving to many. This loss has been hard for me to comprehend. However, with this loss, I truly believe you both have gained Another Angel. I understand life hasn't always been easy for your family, but I have learned more about your family's ability to overcome. Ilan, your are is amazing, breath taking even, I don't know anyone with that type of talent. Mera, I had the opportunity to see your beautiful children that are blessed to have such a strong mother as well. Peter has always inspired, but learning about your family has inspired me even more. Dear Paplanus Family:

I am very saddened to hear of Peters's passing. I have many fond memories of Peter. He was honestly one of the funniest people I have ever known. I remember meeting Peter the first day I arrived at Chico at a track & field party. He kept saying the most weirdest and random stuff to me. He was so hilarious!!! I have never forgotten about him. I will always remember Peter as a loving, kind, and caring individual who always had a smile on his face. I just want you to know that my prayers and thoughts are with your family. Please be strong in these tough moments of your life. I unexpectedly lost a very close sibling not to long ago. I know the pain you must be going through. One thing I can only say is just enjoy the moments you had with Peter. I know your lives will never be the same again but try and live life to the fullest as Peter would have wanted you too.

Great team mate and friend. You brought joy and LAUGHTER. I will always remember how graceful and effortless you made running look. I know you are happy being with your mom. We love you always and will miss your smile. Run those times you always wanted my friend. Chicoooooo!

College would not have been the same without you Peter. I envied your talent in the 800m, I knew that you would go far and hopefully make it to the Olympics.
