He was born in Union County on December 27, 1954, the son of Billy Carson Cox and the late Helen Aycoth Cox. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Cindi Mills Cox; his daughters, Tuesdey Allen (Rick) and Emily Cox; his grandchildren, Grace Ganey, Lukas Ganey, Reed Allen, and Alivia Monroe; his brother, Terry Cox (Kim); and by his sisters, Cindy Robinson and Connie Jordan.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am Friday, November 20, 2020 in Lakeland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 7845 Little Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28226.
