He was born in Union County on October 29, 1948, son of the late Marvin and Viola Honeycutt. Mike is preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Honeycutt and Tommy Honeycutt. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Robbins Honeycutt; his son, Anthony Honeycutt, Tommy Ball, Chad Ball and Casey Ball (Amanda); his grandchildren, Kandie Prentice, Hayley Williams, Laura Ball and Addisyn Ball; his five great-grandchildren, Jaylah, Elijah, Melody, Maecie and Jacob; his sisters, Geva Whitley and Becky Rushing and brother, Randy Honeycutt.
Mike served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war where he received a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal Vietnam Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at First Baptist of Indian Trail’s Sossoman Chapel. A service to celebrate Mike’s life will begin at 11:00am with military honors.
