Harry was a police officer in Dallas where he met his wife of 54 years, Sheran Pritchett Gooch. He later worked with Unilever for 32 years, in sales and later as a computer data analyst. His career took him from Texas to Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia and finally North Carolina where he retired after 32 years of service.
Harry loved the outdoors, spending time hunting, fishing and shooting in gun competitions including Glock, IDPA and Cowboy. Harry loved his labs; he ran them and judged in many Hunt Tests where he made many close friends. He also enjoyed piloting.
In addition to his parents, Harry is predeceased by his son, John Gooch. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheran Gooch; daughters, Tracey Dierolf; Windi Phelps (Matt) and Dusty Littles (Gerald); grandchildren, Christen Smith, John Swearingen, Tyler Dierolf , Ashton Dierolf, Taylor Phelps, Michael Phelps, Aaron Johnson, Zach Gooch, Hanna Gooch, Jonathan Gooch and Amy Gooch; 6 great grandchildren and his beloved Labs, Chance and Yoda.
The family would like to thank Dr. Asim Amin and his staff at Levine Cancer for the years of care and compassion. You gave us the most valuable gift of all – time. We would also like to thank Hospice of Charlotte for providing the dignity that he deserved.

A Celebration of Life will be at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe at 11:00 am - 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
