Henderson Eugene Russ., Sr. , affectionately known as "Pop" age 82, of Monroe, passed away on January 10, 2018. He was born in Charlotte, NC on March 4, 1935, son of the late Sam and Elmana Russ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Russ; his daughter, Gale Russ and his two brothers, Bobby and Pete.
Henderson is survived by his daughter, Darlene Carter; his sons, Richard, Henderson, David and Billy Russ; twenty nine grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Midway United Methodist Church in Monroe. A service to celebrate Pop's life will be held at 2:00pm with interment following in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Union County for their compassionate care over the past year. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is serving the family of Mr. Russ.
