

Mr. Joe Alfred Hasty, 76, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday Morning, January 18, 2012, and was instantly REUNITED with his son Derrick who died October 7, 2007. Joe was born April 22, 1935 in Union County N.C., son of the late James Martin and Ester Leona Helms Hasty, in addition to being predeceased by his son, he was also preceded in death by siblings: Doyt Hasty, J.M. Hasty, Glenn Hasty, Foye Pressley, Irene Pressley and Lillie Mae Jordan. Joe was a Charter Member of Friendly Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon. When Joe was not busy visiting sick friends and family he enjoyed playing his guitar and riding his horse blackjack. Visitation will be Saturday evening, January 21, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, services to celebrate the life of Joe will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Friendly Baptist Church, with Reverends Dustin Knight, Ken Parsons, and Rod Yow officiating, interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include his loving and beloved wife of 58 years, Sue Hargett Hasty of the home, two daughters: Deborah Baucom and husband David of Monroe, N.C., Donna Little and husband Phillip of Mooresville N.C., Grandchildren: Brandy Billingsley and husband Ryan, Sarah Mintz and husband Paul, Jason Little, Cody, Dylan and Luke Hasty, great grandchildren: Kimberly, Hailey and Charley Billingsley, Elijah and Nathaniel Mintz, sisters: Alva Simpson and husband Paul, Raynell Rowell and husband Lester both of Indian Trail N.C., Hazel Price and husband Ken of Monroe N.C., Ann Frasure of Huntersville N.C.
