Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ira Walden Jr. She was a loving wife and mother. A stronger woman, you would not find.
She is survived by her six children, Barbara Abernathy, Elizabeth Brock, Darnell Hammonds, Lee Walden, Danny Walden, and Mike Walden; sixteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
