Born April 24, 1954, he was the son of Jake Whitaker, Jr., and Maggie Hargette Whitaker.
Ronnie spent his early working career at Monroe Hardware Retail Store, where he remained for 20 years. He was the owner of Plumbing Specialties of Monroe, Inc. Most recently, he was employed by Lowes of Waxhaw, where he became a part of the Lowes Family.
Ronnie was a faithful husband, beloved brother and a friend to all. He always brought a smile to anyone he came in contact with and he loved the Dallas Cowboys. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Phyllis Whitaker; two sisters: Dianne Whitaker and Teresa Whitaker. One brother: Richard Whitaker. He is also survived by his very special cousin, Gary Whitaker.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00p.m. at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. There will be a private service to follow at a later date.
