Terry Lee Helms

Terry Helms passed away on March 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose kindness and humility touched everyone who knew him.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Susan Helms; his children, MaryAnn Helms, Benjamin Helms (Stephanie), Brandon Helms (Meghan), Meagan (Edward), and Karah Helms; and his seven cherished grandchildren, Natalie, Johnny, Weston, Corbin, Lily, Adeline, and Anna. He is also survived by his parents, Ron and Mary Helms, and his brothers, Steve (Candice), Tony (Beth) and four young ladies he loved as his own; Mary Royal (Cousin), Miranda Ingram(niece), Katlynn Rape(niece), and Emily Coley(niece).

A hardworking and dedicated family man, Terry took great pride in providing for and spending time with those he loved. He enjoyed golfing and fishing, especially when he could share those moments with his sons and Karah. Terry had a love for all things nerdy, especially computers, Star Wars, and he never missed an opportunity to tell a good—often perfectly cheesy—dad joke.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his sense of humor, and the countless lives he touched through his friendships and work. Terry’s presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will begin Monday, March 30th at 4:30 pm at Bible Baptist Tabernacle in Monroe NC. The family will receive visitors from 4:30 – 5:15pm followed by the service and graveside service.
