Trudy Blythe Helms

Born on July 10, 1950 Trudy was a lifelong Union County native. She attended Kings College where she obtained an Associates Degree in Business Management and was a retiree of the Union County Government Legal Department. Trudy was also a member of the Methodist Congregation and an avid watcher of NCIS. She loved listening to the music of Bon Jovi, Neil Diamond, and Andrea Bocelli. Her greatest enjoyment and fulfillment however, was the love of her life, Donald Helms, whom she married at the age of 18 and celebrated 56 wonderful years together with him.

Trudy is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Gladys Blythe. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Helms; sister, Patti Smith; niece, Shannon Lowery, great-niece, Alyssa Bohrer; great-nephew, Aiden Bohrer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews on the Helms side.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 1st, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025 at 11:00 am at Waxhaw City Cemetery located at 111 Arbor Drive, Waxhaw, North Carolina.
